Web interface

• I just entered the URL and I get an error
• I typed an expiration formula, but when the page reloads it's empty again or still holds the former value
• I can connect to the UI through http://127.0.0.1:8047/pwd/BTManager but it doesn't work with http://192.168.0.1:8047/pwd/BTManager event though this machine's IP is 192.168.0.1. I can't connect from any other host, also.
• I run MacOS X and the configuration file doesn't seem to be taken into account.
• When I try to launch BTManagerServer.py, I get a bunch of errors ending with 'ImportError: No module named BitTorrent.download'
• When I try to launch BTManagerServer.py, I get a bunch of errors ending with 'AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'translate_to_string''
• BTManagerServer is launched but all I get is a blank page. When I try with wget, I get a 0 size file.

Web interface

• You probably mistyped the URL. If you use the default authentication style, it is of the form

  http://localhost:[port]/BTManager

  If you use old-style authentication, it is

  http://localhost:[port]/[password]/BTManager

  where [port] is replaced with the actual port number, and [password] with your password, of course :)

• The formula probably has a syntax error. If it is the case, it will show up in the 'Errors' tab, check it.

• In versions 1.2.0b1 and 1.2.0b2, BTManager only listens for connections on the loopback interface. You have to set the HTTP/bindaddr configuration item to an empty string to allow incoming connections from any host. Under Windows, create a file named 'BTManagerrc' (without any extension) in BTManager's installation directory and edit it to add the following line:

  HTTP/bindaddr=

  (nothing after the '='). Restart BTManager. This is the default since 1.2.0b3.

• This is a bug. As I don't have access to a Mac, I can't reproduce it, so it's almost impossible to solve. Hopefully, this should be fixed in 1.3.0 since the configuration system was entirely rewritten.

  Update:

  it seems this bug is indeed fixed in 1.3.0

• BTManager is dependent on BitTorrent itself. You can either install BitTorrent with the standard procedure (python setup.py install) or just leave it somewhere and add this directory to your PYTHONPATH environment variable. This applies to other Python dependencies as well (pyconf, autoweb).

• Under FreeBSD and maybe others, the package libxslt includes the Python binding, which is

  not

  libxsltmod. Make sure you download libxsltmod from the URL given in the documentation.

• This is the same as the former problem. Unfortunately, since 1.3.0, you don't get the error message any more :(
